Flared jeans and trousers are going to be a Spring 2011 trend  and I must say I  absolutely adore these flare and wide leg looks from the New York Fashion Week Runway.

Denim Trend 2011: Go Wide

I have been wearing skinny jeans for most of 2010 so it is a nice change to wear these wide leg jeans I found in the back of my closet.   I am definitely not giving up my skinny jeans yet but this Spring and Summer we are going to see a 70's revival which includes flared hems on jeans and trousers.  It's a nice change don't you think?

Brown Sugar Popovers

The latest issue of Boston magazine arrived at my doorstep this week and I was so excited to see an article on Joanne Chang of Flour Bakery.  Flour is one of my favorite bakery's in Boston and this delicious recipe for brown sugar popovers featured in the magazine is from Joanna's new book: Spectacular Recipes from Boston's Flour Bakery + Cafe.  The cookbook was recently listed as NPR's top 10 cookbooks of the year and was also featured in a NY times best cookbooks of the year article.  It is temporarily out of stock but should be available later this month and I cannot wait to get my signed copy at the bakery.  I made these popovers yesterday morning and took them over to my friend's place for brunch. The popovers are moist, fluffy, not too sweet, and perfect with a cup of coffee.

DVF Look of the Week: Naina with style'n

I am a huge fan of Diane von Furstenberg and her line of clothing (as seen here and here).  So, I was so excited to hear that I was selected by DVF for having the Look of the Week.

My sister and I have long hair and blow drying it is always so time consuming so when I found out about City Blow, an at home hair styling and blow dry service in Boston, I knew we had to give it a try.  City Blow will come to you wherever you are including the gym. The stylist brings all her own styling tools, a chair, and even magazines and an IPad to keep you entertained. All you have to do is select the style you want!   Seriously I might get addicted to this service!

So instead of making long lists of New Year's resolutions how about making a commitment in 2011 to treating yourself and indulging a bit.  This could be the occasional professional blow dry,  a massage or facial,  or even just a simple manicure/pedicure. We all deserve to look and feel good right?

Monday Night: It's a Date

Aneesh and I both started back at work today after being off for several days.  So we decided to officially end our holidays and 2010 with a date night at Capital Grille, one of our favorite spots in Boston.   We sat the bar and reflected on 2010 and we discussed some of our goals and resolutions for 2011.  While Aneesh listed off his resolutions for 2011 I can honestly say I have not made any specific resolutions for 2011.  Last year my New Year's resolution was to figure out a way to be more creative and I came up with this blog idea in January and got it started by Spring. 

For this year, we talked about the idea of setting a joint resolution/goal for 2011.   Since we both have an interest in improving our photography skills, we decided to work on this goal together.  We end up getting so busy with our own careers and interests so having this joint goal will be a great way to spend some quality time together.   I hope by this time next year both of us will be able to use our camera in manual mode! Let's see how it goes.....

Monday Night: It's a Date

Happy New Year everyone! After relaxing at home on the first day of 2011 we decided to venture out yesterday to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  This was the perfect opportunity to get dressed up and wear my new DVF skirt I got in North Carolina.  (I scored this skirt at 50% off from Gena Chandler.) 

I was excited to finally check out the new Art of the America's Wing at the MFA.  We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at the New American Cafe and spent some time at the Avedon Fashion photography exhibit.  It was the perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Ariyana insisted on bringing her kitty cat and bag to the museum.  I bet you can guess who ended up carrying it most of the time. 

Ariyana is wearing a dress I got on sale from Crew Cuts and her new Uggs my parents got her for Christmas.
