All Wrapped Up: Home Office

Back in January I shared pictures of my kitchen table before and after it was wrapped in linen.  And I finally got around to taking pictures of my office furniture wrapped in white linen. My office furniture is over 10 years old and while it was all functional I was just ready for a new and updated look. I debated whether to buy a new white desk and filing cabinets but in the end I decided to have all my office furniture wrapped in white linen fabric.

I also got this new chair from West Elm and my friend and interior designer Phoebe had it re upholstered with a higher quality white leather fabric. The only issue is that this chair is not comfortable to sit on for hours at a time. So for the time being my husband uses this chair and I am back to using my amazing Herman Miller Aeron chair.

We also added lucite knobs for a more modern look.

I took this before picture just before the desk and file cabinets were picked up and sent to the workroom.

I had the opportunity to visit the workroom so I took this picture of the file cabinets with the actual linen that was used on them.
Since I work from home and use this desk often I decided to add a glass top. The glass helps protect the surface from spills, pen marks etc.  And I am sure my work colleagues are wondering where my monitor, phone, and work laptop is.  Well they have been temporarily moved to the right side of my desk since they don't photograph well!

Fashion Meets Interior Design

Phoebe is a good friend of mine and she has helped me with so many interior design projects in my home. She is also very stylish and I am pretty sure one of the reasons we get along so well is because we both have a weakness for beautiful handbags.

Every month Phoebe features a Design Lab over at her website Lovejoy Designs. This month in Your Closet's Working Overtime, Phoebe explains how you can use your closet as a useful resource when designing your home.  And best of all Phoebe gives us great examples of how she has used colors in her own home based on favorite items from her wardrobe.

Stylish Headboards

This morning Ariyana's custom upholstered tufted headboard finally arrived and the timing could not be more perfect since we are in the process of transitioning her from the crib to the "big girl" bed.
I was inspired by many of these beautiful images of upholstered beds below as I was making my decision.   I wanted a headboard Ariyana could have in her bedroom for several years.  But, I wanted the option to move the headboard into a guest room down the road.  So, I decided on an ivory tufted headboard and of course my friend Phoebe (of Lovejoy Designs)  made all of this happen.

I also want to thank the following lovely ladies for giving me Blog Awards over the past week.   I will try and get around to answering the questions but for now I really want to thank each of these stylish ladies for thinking of me.

Style and Design-Seema Krish

I heard about the Seema Krish collection through my good friend and Interior Designer Phoebe Lovejoy (Lovejoy Designs).  Phoebe and I were trying to find some new fun and colorful pillows for the living room. As soon as I saw these pillows I loved them and I ended up buying three of them.  Seema was kind enough to invite me to visit her studio and meet her so I am looking forward to catching up with her and seeing more of her new designs.

Marni, from style carrot has graciously allowed me to use her pictures
