5 New Ideas for your Spring Wardrobe

Ok no exciting pictures today because I am on a airplane right now flying from Boston to LA.  Have you flown Virgin America yet? What an amazing airline!  All the employees are always so accommodating and they make sure everyone has a pleasant experience on board (despite the turbulence taking place right now).  It's so nice to be connected to the Internet and get work done,  despite the fact that I would rather be watching an on demand movie right now.

So anyway, I am a bit of a procrastinator when it comes to packing so this morning at 5 am as I was frantically packing for my my business trip  I came up with this idea about 5 ways to enhance your spring wardrobe.  Yes, I actually came up with these ideas before drinking my morning cup of coffee.

1. Be creative and daring with accessories. Add belts, long necklaces, lots of bangles, and fun watches.

2. Add color to your wardrobe-spring is the perfect time to do this. Yellow, red, and fuchsia are all great colors to add a pop of color to your look.

3. Mix trendy inexpensive pieces with more expensive classic pieces from your wardrobe. I love buying high quality jeans,  but I love to mix it up with fun  and flirty tops from H&M and Forever 21.

4. Buy a few pieces that can serve multi functions. It's nice to have a few pieces you can transform from work to evening dinners to weekend day trips. Cardigans, frilly blouses, black skinny pants, simple black dress, and casual blazers all come to mind.

5. Make old pieces new again. I just took out my fitted jean jacket from a few seasons ago and it is one of my favorite pieces to wear right now.

What are your fresh new ideas for your Spring Wardrobe?

Spring in Full Bloom

Typically when I shop I like to buy clothes that are either black, grey, or neutral in color.  But, last week I did the complete opposite and I bought a silk floral blouse from Zara.  Now I am hooked on the floral trend and want one of these dresses.

How can you not love these bright floral dresses from the Spring 2010 Erdem Ready to Wear collection?  They are all absolutely gorgeous.

Quick Fix

Dry shampoo is one of my favorite styling products I am using right now. And i think the Rene Furterer Naturia is one of the best ones available.  It's a great way to maintain your hairstyle between washes and also to avoid washing your hair too often.  It's super easy to use and it leaves your hair looking fresh as if you had just washed and blowdryed it.  I keep one in my gym bag, one at home, and I always travel with one. In fact, every time I use it at the gym I get questions about it and how it works.   It's also great because it comes in a 1.6 oz and 3.2 oz bottle.  To use it, just spray onto hair at a distance of 10 inches. Leave on for two minutes, then brush out.

Cheers to Good Friends

I am so excited for this weekend. We will be visiting our close friends in Cleveland. This will be the first time our kids will meet and since they have two little girls I am sure all the kids will have a blast together.  The four of us are planning to sit back and enjoy some red wine and eat lots of cheese.

These pictures were taken last September when the 4 of us met up in Napa/Sonoma and Monterrey to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary (which happens to be on the same day of the same year!)
Enjoy the weekend.

Currently Reading

I have not been reading lately as much as I would like. So I saw reviews for this book "Falling Apart in One Piece: An Optimists Journey Through the Hell of Divorce and I decided to order it.   First let me say that usually I would not read a book about divorce since I am happily married.  But, I really enjoy memoirs and I find it interesting when people can live through difficulties and share their stories of pain and hope.   I was intrigued by this particular memoir by Stacy Morrison,  editor in chief of Redbook magazine. Stacy captures the experience of her divorce in an emotional and honest way.  So far the book is captivating and I am hooked.

Have you read any amazing memoirs recently?

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was full of good times with friends and family. We spent much of the weekend grilling out, relaxing, and just eating too much food.
