Colorful Sleeves

I spotted a woman on an airplane carrying a beautiful giraffe print laptop sleeve and I decided I wanted to get a new sleeve for my laptop.   Most of the time I just throw my laptop into one of my large handbags and go.  But, I think having a functional yet stylish laptop sleeve will be great to avoid scratches and damage to the my laptop. Colorful Sleeves

Currently Obsessed with Baskets

I am sort of obsessed with baskets and organization right now.  My good friend Phoebe helped me organize the cabinet located in our guest bathroom using baskets from Pottery Barn.  (top 3 pictures)We use this closet to keep towels and sheets since I don't really have a proper linen closet.
I managed to organize the second storage cabinet on my own. (which I know comes as a surprise to many of you who know me.) These baskets are from Target.

Next up is organizing  Ariyana's toys, books, and arts/crafts. I still have not come up with a solution yet. Stay tuned for more details on this project.

Style and Design-Seema Krish

I heard about the Seema Krish collection through my good friend and Interior Designer Phoebe Lovejoy (Lovejoy Designs).  Phoebe and I were trying to find some new fun and colorful pillows for the living room. As soon as I saw these pillows I loved them and I ended up buying three of them.  Seema was kind enough to invite me to visit her studio and meet her so I am looking forward to catching up with her and seeing more of her new designs.

Father's Day Gift Ideas

Getting a gift for my dad has always been tough because he always says " I don't need anything" and that doesn't really help me much.  At least when my mom isn't helpful regarding her Birthday or Mother's day gift,  it's pretty easy to go shopping and find something she will like. Women are just easier to shop for in my opinion.  So, if you are struggling with gift ideas for your dad, here are a few ideas you may find helpful.

Emporio Armani Silicone Strap Chronograph Watch  $295.00  This watch is great for the the stylish dad's out there. It features a sporty chronograph center with stainless steel and a silicone strap.

Bobby Flay's Grill It $22.15 This book is perfect for summer grilling but if your dad is not into cooking and grilling then how about a book on a topic he does like? You can never go wrong with a good book.

Jack Spade Nylon Soap Bag $75.00. This is great for the dad to use on a weekend family trip or a work trip. Everyone needs one of these.

Father's Day Gift Ideas

Weekend

This weekend was relaxing and I had a great time with family and friends. I had so many opportunities to practice taking pictures all weekend. Unfortunately, while in Gloucester, my camera battery died after taking one picture.  And yesterday, I left the camera on the kitchen table before heading out to Nicole's wedding shower. So much for practicing with the camera. Thanks to my husband and good friend Jen for letting me borrow their IPhones to take these pictures.

What did I learn this weekend?
-Mario Lopez is really cute in person (he was sitting in the row in front me on my flight Friday)
-Valentine's Day is a cute (but definitely girly) movie
-Always make sure camera is charged
-Remember to actually take the camera before leaving home
-How much I could enjoy a simple scenic drive in the car with Aneesh and Ariyana
-Simple pleasures like making a 5pm Starbucks run with Aneesh for freshly brewed Kona coffee really makes me happy
-It has been along time since I just stayed in on a Saturday evening,  listening to jazz, hanging out with Aneesh, and not doing much of anything
-Despite being busy with work and kids it's always so refreshing and comforting to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine with my girlfriends

Weekend

Travel in Style

Today I am flying back to Boston after a short business trip to L.A. and I am really looking forward to getting back home and spending quality time with family and friends.

I believe when you travel you should look stylish.  Yes, it's equally important to be comfortable but why not look cute too? My standard outfit for travel usually consists of black leggings, a long top, and comfortable flats. I have these flats from Nordstrom and they are so cute. I am also admiring this Splendid top but I don't think I need another striped top in my closet right now.

Travel in Style

Just Let Me Lie Down

As a mom of a 2 year old,  sometimes I feel like I just need to lie down! The past month or so I have been trying to read a bit before going to sleep every evening.  And, I must say I am doing pretty well!  It feels so good to get back to reading, even if it is just 10-15 minutes every evening.  I just finished reading this book by Kristin van Ogtrop, editor of Real Simple magazine.  Just Let Me Lie Down is a funny and easy to read book about motherhood and working.
Next on the reading list is The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
