An Indian Wedding

Sachin arriving on a horse and carriage

Julie is wearing a beautiful red embroidered lehnga.  She is also wearing a gold necklace given to her as a gift from Sachin's mom and Sachin's mom wore this exact necklace on her wedding day over 30 years ago! Doesn't Julie look beautiful? She is getting ready to exchange garlands with Sachin prior to the ceremony.
The happy couple after the ceremony
the wedding bangles and mehndi on her hands
My dear cousin Puja looking pretty in pink (she is also the sister of the groom)
more pretty and colorful bangles
My sister is wearing a silk and brocade churidar. It is simple and elegant and I love the orange and fuschia color combination.  I tried to get a picture of my sister minus Ariyana but Ariyana did not leave my sister's side for the most of the day.
I am wearing a dusty rose georgette sari
We did not plan our coordinated outfits
Ariyana and her cousin Sarina did not plan their coordinated outfits either. They are both wearing bandhani lehngas.

One of my favorite pictures.  Stay tuned tomorrow for the wedding reception pictures.

@Cara-I really wanted a dusty rose sari and my mom had our dear friend (who is also a designer) design and make it for me. And by the way your 30th party sounds like fun. I think you and your husband should do a Bollywood dance as well :)

The memories come flooding back of immaculately dressed cousins, spouses children, and of course the bridal couple, all having a great time together! Pictures are great given the conditions and distance they were taken from. We look forward to the next gathering.....Keep those photos coming Naina!
