Sequins and a Soiree

I absolutely love sequins (here and here) so I just bought this BR monogram pink sequin skirt. (30% off)  I wore the skirt last Saturday when my husband and I went to the South End Buttery for dinner  and then met up with friends at 28 Degrees.  I styled the skirt with a black sleeveless flowy chiffon top, black opaque tights, and these black shoes.  But now I am looking for a different way to style the outfit for dinner this Friday.

So all you fashionista's out there- How would you style a complete look with this pinkish/brown sequin mini skirt?

And for you lovely ladies in Boston grab your girlfriends Thursday evening for the South Shore Soiree. Hope to see you there!

Love that skirt. You can wear it a ton of different ways...dress it up or even dress it down.

You know how I love those all-over-sequined pieces! I'd pair this with a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, tights, and booties. Other options would be a loose-ish tank with a pretty cardigan. Be sure to show us how you do it!

Oh that's such a great colour!!!
I wouldn't know what to pair with it though, I don't have all that many sequened things. But knowing your style sense (and your readers' style sense) I'm sure that skirt will become just as versatile as a little black dress! hehe :o)

Since you have already paired it with black, I think you should go for a soft feminine and flirty look. Maybe a white or baby pink blouse/top, tights and brown knee high boots

I would wear this pretty sequins skirt with oversized light sweater, dark tights and long boots:)

Adorable! I only know how to pair sequins with fish nets from all my years in dance competitions ;) This looks way classier though.

No jelly cookies in Boston? That is a federal offense!

A sequin skirt sounds fab!

I would go for a cream blouse with bow ties to wear with this skirt. Paired with some bronze heels and a coat for the night it would look so good!

@Anonymous (aka cousin Vandna!) I love that black sequin skirt paired up with the polka dots, blazer, and flats. Great combination and great find.

I'm loving how you styled this skirt... but I'm also picturing it with a silky white flowy top and patent pumps!

Good luck and be sure to show us pictures on what you decide!!

THE ALTERNATIVE WIFE said...

I adore that skirt! The color is amazing and I'm such a sucker for sequins. Good call on the black. For another alternative I'd do a light cream or champagne blouse with ankle boots.

Samantha said...

I love that skirt!! The color is beautiful! (and even at full price it's much more reasonable than sequin skirts I've seen!)
I like the idea of styling it will all black to make the color pop. Maybe go with a simple black blouse instead of flowy chiffon and jazz it up with fun gold jewelry? Or an off-white blouse could work.. Cant wait to see how you style it!!

This skirt is adorable. I almost bought something very similar from J.Crew, but it was bronze. I was waiting for it to go on sale, but I must have underestimated it's popularity, because I think it sold out before it hit the sale rack. Also, let's talk about 28 degrees... how cool is their bathroom?! Also, I hope you tried the cucumber mojito there, it's my favorite!

I seriously love your style! We would make the best shopping buddies EVER haha

Hi there!

I might try gray tights and gray/patent & suede pumps with the sequin skirt. Up top, I'd go for a solid pink jumpsuit style shirt with a soft rolled collar and pearls.

Laugh if you want...it's the first thing that came to mind. I'm laughing!!

XOXO
